After working everyday for almost a month, I’ve decided to stay home for a few days and relax. A full day off. What to do with myself.
Stupid Movie Night
The plan was to head over to Shawn and Nikki’s after work and I was determined to make it there. Once my shift was over I started to head South toward Springville, UT which is the city that I thought they lived in…. Not sure why I though they lived there, but back to the story. I took the second exit and headed East toward the mountains thinking that I knew exactly where I was heading. After about 5 minutes of heading in the wrong direction, I called Lissa for help. She wasn’t sure of the exact location, but after talking with Scott I found out that they actually lived in Payson, UT. So off I headed further South.
Payson was a little further away than I remembered and there was no indication that there was more than one freeway exit for Payson so I took the first exit I came across and headed East. Again the surroundings lost all of their familiarity after a while and I headed back to the freeway. At this point I was ready to give up. Scott had called me back to let me know that he didn’t get much sleep last night. He said it would probably best if he didn’t come as the girls were sick and he wouldn’t want to pass that sickness on to the rest of us. He asked that I pass on the message, so I continued on my way.
It would seem that the third time is the charm as the third freeway exit that I took was finally the right exit. I headed East and everything that looked familiar. The only problem was that I couldn’t remember what their house looked like… Fortunately I say Jeff getting out of his car and knew I was in the right place.
Jeff, Zack, Kristina and of course Shawn and Nikki were all there when I finally got there. Dave showed up a few minutes later. We talked for a while getting caught up on recent events and then had dinner. Shawn and Nikki had prepared pasta with marinara/homemade pesto (which was amazing), salad, and garlic/cheese bread. After a delicious dinner, we started our “Stupid Movie Night” with the latest Batman and Robin movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, George Clooney, and Chris O’Donnell.
The movie was terrible and even the riff track couldn’t save it. There was no real plot and things just got progressively worse as the movie played. The suit that Mr. Freeze wore made it look like he had breasts which paired with his henchmen/hockey players that skated like delicate little flowers was so ridiculous it was funny. We did get a few of good laughs, though I couldn’t believe that that movie had actually made it to the theater.
The second movie- short film really- was Computer Boy; a low budget film made by a boy in Australia as a parody of The Matrix. Due to the low budget, the quality of the short film was terrible and some of the scenes were pretty cheesy and stupid, but it did have some really funny moments. The portrayal of Keanu Reeves was hilarious and the constant McDonalds references provided extra comic relief.
Over all it was a great night. Many people would think that watching stupid movies would be well –stupid, but with the right people it is a lot of fun. Watching stupid movies brings about a lot of stories, debate, and laughter. On top of that here was great food, fun, and memories to be had by all.
To elaborate… May 9th, 2012
Today was amazing. Rick and I got a lot of stuff done. We got the oil changed in both of our cars and finally got the Explorer registered. On the way home we stopped off at Goldsmith’s to get my Ring cleaned and ended up leaving it there for some maintenance. After all of that, we decided to go up into the mountains so we went and picked up Gir from my mom’s house and headed toward AF canyon.
Alpine Loop was closed so we decided to head up past Tibble Fork and ended up on a very windy road. Gir was going nuts with all of the smells – It was fun to watch her run from one window to the other trying to take everything in. We stopped a couple of times to stretch our legs and to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery.
After our trip up into the mountains we went to see Rick’s parents. We didn’t stay long as they both had a lot going on, but it was a fun little visit. We got to see the new playground set that Rick’s Dad and Uncle Tom had just built. Rick’s mom told us about all of the new projects they’ve started to get their house and yard all polished up.
About 20 minutes later we were on our way over to BlakFyre where we purchased ‘Mansions of Madness’. On the way back to the car, I noticed that the box was damaged. Our options at that point were to either get store credit or check back with them on Wednesday to see if they have another copy that we can switch ours with. We have decided to go with the second option which means that we can’t actually open up the game or play it until then. Little bit of a bummer, but it should be worth the wait.
The last two hours of Rick’s time home were spent just enjoying each other’s company. We went to the restaurant La Costa for dinner, which was really delicious. When we finally got home we were so full and exhausted that we took a nap. Rick still had his load to deliver so he got everything packed up and headed out.

Eryn and I just had a great day together. Went up into the mountains, out to lunch, visited my parents and just spent some great quality time together.
New Hard Drive.
HAHA I tricked my Erye into a new 3 TB hard drive..
Really we needed the space. I was running out on my 2 TB drive and I wanted to backup some stuff..
Eryn Blogging?
So… I guess since Rick went through the trouble of setting this up, I should probably utilize it. Kind of drawing a blank on what to blog about…. I’ve never really understood writing about your personal life on something that is accessible for anyone to read. After all, I am the Stalker. I’ve always preferred writing in a Journal – though I guess the idea of completely opening yourself up to the world has a sort of freeing feeling. Quite honestly, it is making me feel rather narcissistic….
Job Upgrade 3.0
I’ve received a .02 cent raise in my job today. You might think that isn’t much, but that is a .02 cent raise per mile. Which comes out to about $200 more per month. That should give Eryn and I even more extra cash to help pay down everything.

Rick’s News
Well April has come and gone. It wasn’t a bad month. I was able to get home several times and visit with the little wife. Also had dinner with the Heppler side of the family, but I was only able to visit with my parents once. May will be different. There are some Stalker family plans in the works and I hope I get to see them all.
I’m still trucking. Eryn is still working with Bluehost (Great company to work for) Eryn loves it there. We are doing well our debt is falling quickly and in another 2 1/2 years it should be gone. Right now with Eryn’s job and my job we are getting ahead of the game. In fact we have been able to purchase some new items and replace some broken down items in the last few months. It has been great.
I know your all wondering when Eryn and I will have some little ones running around. Well we are trying, the fact that I’m not home all the time. It has been very difficult to hit things at the right times, but I’m sure one day it will happen.
New blog. Let see how long it will last.
If only I could get the family to use it.
